The idea is simple - four single men and four single women meet for dinner at eight o'clock for an evening of friendly conversation, good food, and the chance to increase your circle of friends over dinner. Club members are brought together based on age, mutual interest, and backgrounds. The relaxed group setting relieves the pressure of one-on-one dating and increases the chances of meeting someone interesting and compatible.
Sarah Kathryn and the hostess staff are matchmakers who work closely to choose hip restaurants, match like minds, and make dating introductions. We're the social leaders of each group of singles. To ensure that we stay on the leading edge of dating and matchmaking services, our research involves trying new restaurants, sampling potent potables, and chatting with singles out on the town.
Dinner Dating Expansion
Sarah Kathryn was 22 when she started her entrepreneurial adventure in matchmaking. After hundreds of successful dinners in Atlanta, Sarah Kathryn became restless and decided to challenge herself by expanding Eight at Eight to other markets. Under her guidance and based on hundreds of requests to bring this concept nationwide, Eight at Eight expanded to Chicago, New York, and Washington, DC.
Alas, it became apparent that, to ensure continued success for our clients and ourselves, Eight at Eight needed to scale back to only Atlanta and New York City.
Our singles database contains over ? dating profiles and continues to grow – an amazing turnaround for a dating service on the verge of dissolving under previous ownership!
Due to an increased demand, we broadened our membership to where we are currently accepting singles ages 21-65 who are interested in attending Eight at Eight dinners. More expansion to come!
Eight at Eight has led to over 300 marriages, thousands of first dates, hundreds of serious relationships, dozens of first kisses, and even a few children.
We’ve even been featured in/on/by The Oprah Winfrey Show, The Wall Street Journal, CNN, Entrepreneur Magazine, Cosmopolitan Magazine, Men's Health, Fox News, New York Post, The Chicago Tribune, The Atlanta Journal, and other local media outlets.
Director of Membership
Jennifer Barnes Miotke brings a true passion for bringing people together and has worked in the dating industry for over 6 years. On her days off, Jennifer leads a (mostly) low-key life with her husband, curious cat, and a “not quite paper-trained” puppy. On those nights she leaves her low-key nature at home, Jennifer and her girlfriends can be overheard dishing dating advice over cocktails at one or more – okay, like four – of Atlanta's best venues. Originally from Columbia, South Carolina, Jennifer is a proud graduate of the College of Charleston. If you are in your 30s, 40s, or 50s, and want to know what Jennifer can do for you and your love life, all you have to do is ask.
If there were an award for “Best Dressed,” our resident style coach Anna-Laura would win. Every. Single. Day. As our Eight at Eight Event
Coordinator, she organizes our delightfully delicious dinner parties in Atlanta, Washington, DC, and New York; and carefully chooses charming restaurants and even more charming singles. In addition to balancing all those details, she manages to be both sassy and the most genuine person you’ll ever meet at the same time.
Originally from Douglas, GA, she remains a huge University of Georgia supporter, enjoys throwing terrific parties with her friends, and exploring all our city has to offer. Anna-Laura is happily married to her high-school sweetheart and has 3 wonderful children.

Hostess & Researcher
Sarah Kathryn’s younger sister, Emily, has been working with Eight at Eight Dinner Club on and off since the very beginning in 1998.
At that time, she was in college – and couldn’t understand why her industrious older sister purchased a struggling dating service. After all, meeting people on a campus with over 30,000 students was practically effortless. However, she spent the following summer on Nantucket – where she knew practically no one and her efforts to make friends fell flat. After enduring one too many nights eating alone, Emily heard herself think, “I’d pay anything to be introduced to nice people!”
Emily attends our weekly Match Meetings and researches each new application. Her extensive training in The Enneagram and various other personality testing programs and background in interpersonal communication make her a tremendous asset to our company.
Happily married to her college sweetheart, the two lived in Brussels from 2004-2009, returning to Atlanta where they are raising two young sons. Emily is in two book clubs: one for the more profound literature and one that, in her words, “discusses fluffier books.” She must have read a lot of non-fiction in order to have earned a Bachelor of Consumer Sciences, cum laude, from the University of Georgia’s College of Family and Consumer Sciences.
World travelers, Emily loves to talk to people about: their trips to London, Paris, Rome, Venice, Bruegge, Istanbul, Copenhagen, Stockholm, Helsinki, St. Petersburg, Athens, Santorini, Mikonos, and Egypt; and her experiences living in Australia and New Zealand for four months and three months on a Wyoming dude ranch. (But don’t ask her about Nantucket – she’s managed to block that out!)
Emily is originally from the Midwest, but now considers Atlanta her
home. She has experience in event planning and winery operations. On
a visit to Atlanta, she drove by our office and called to see if we
had any job openings. Her tenacious, fun spirit made us instantly
want to hire this dynamic team member!
Emily is an important part of the office and works to recruit members
for Eight at Eight Dinner Club. She also recruits and matches her own
1on1 clients. Emily especially loves planning special events and
hostessing dinner parties.
Emily spends time every day collecting feedback, offering advice on
dating, and writing blog articles.
